Develop Silverlight 2.0 Web Applications and Data Access in Tampa Florida

If you want to learn about developing Silverlight 2.0 Web Applications and Data Access and live anywhere near Tampa, Florida, I recommend catching the Day of Silverlight Event in Tampa with John Papa on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 9am - 12pm.

Day of Silverlight Overview

"While Silverlight empowers developers to use their .NET and XAML skills to develop Rich Internet Applications, it also can be used to build data driven Silverlight applications that communicate with multi-tier architectures. This session will demonstrate how to build Silverlight 2 applications that communicate with and consume REST services, conquering cross domain concerns, implementing sockets, and use LINQ to XML to manage XML content. This session will also show the various data binding techniques that can be used in Silverlight using XAML, the DataContext and the Silverlight 2 control set. We’ll also demonstrate how the notifications work with XAML based data binding, consuming POX with LINQ to XML, and implementing resources. Examples will be shown using both Expression Blend and Visual Studio."
