I am looking for disabled showers to fit in my mother’s house. My mum is not getting any younger and is finding it more and more difficult to climb in and out of her bath. She suffers from osteo-arthritis and finds that her joints are very stiff – especially the ones that are involved n lifting her legs and knees any great amount. It has been suggested to her – and I think it’s a good idea, that she has a walk in shower installed in place of a regular bath. This will mean that she can still enjoy the experience of a shower to stay clean, but doesn’t have to struggle to sit down in and get in and out of a bath. I have looked at what is available and they are a great idea. You simply walk in and sit down on the fitted shelf before positioning the shower over you. There are are also rails and handles that can be fitted to make getting up and down much easier.
